Sandy's PIZZA has arrived! # 7218334 / 7218329
Hi, guys! SUMMER NA SOON!!! :) Though generally conscious ako about stuff I eat, I am so proud of my Tita Sandy's homemade pizza, that I make sure to always order at least 6 boxes on set! My fav flavours are White Cheese, Tuyo and Very Veggie (wheat flour pizza!). She makes her own dough fresh in the morning and delivers her pizza straight from the oven... And while being surprisingly affordable (pls call # for price), they come in huge slices!!! Mmmmmm!
OA talaga! Hahaha!
Well, she has taken her many baby steps for her new pizza business and now it is ready to SOAR! With the local Philippine twists she incorporates in her flavours, my 'Twin' (being my pops' youngest sister, we really look alike!) will take this pizza to greater, yummier heights. :)
Hi to Tito Edu, and my Donita, too! Pizza Margherita ~ Home made tomato sauce, mozarella & fresh basil Garlic Tuyo in olive oil (our version of anchovies!) ~ can order with red egg topping Spanish Sardines in olive oil with capers Chorizo ~ spiced with tons of garlic & spanish paprika Thai Chicken Curry ~ a melange of wonderful, subtle & unique spices White Cheese ~ a premium blend of three delish cheeses: Mozarella, Parmesan & Kesong Puti! White Cheese plus bacon & mushrooms
Italian Sausage & mushrooms ~ homemade Italian sausage with mushrooms
Pepperoni ~ simply a classic
Meatzarella ~ ...just MEAT
Very Veggie ~ high fiber, made with wheat flour dough... the Healthier choice!
Combination ~ a little of everything, ALOT of flavour!
Extra toppings: Cheese, fresh Basil, Beef, Pepperoni, Bacon, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Onions, Garlic, Tomatoes, Olives, Green Peppers
Extras: Buffalo Chicken Wings (6 pcs. / 12 pcs.) - Tangy!!! Pastas: Classic Bolognese, Pasta Carbonara, Tuna Pasta all'Arrabbiata
HAPPY Sandy's Pizza DAY!!!
My computer clock says Mon 6:16 PM. It's not as though I've been able to think straight this past week, due to my inability to cope well with lack of sleep, but I do know 6:16 PM today was... 7 hours ago. My computer's still on Europe time! In my car on the road I was staring at EDSA, requiring from it some sort of reaction, because for the first time in a long time, it wasn't yet midnight and already I was on my way home. It's past 1 AM here in Manila, so I settle for a roll of the eyes and some headshaking... I can't sleep. My body hurts from dancing again, for the Araneta show we did with Powerdance. The warm ups, combinations, kicks and stretches, the sweat and muscle pains, the nerves and adrenaline rushes from tito Dougs' meticulous pro-jazz class... I missed every bit of dance after years of no serious training, and though it's been 3 days since the performance, my body's not ready to just stay still and rest. My body missed our highschool Dance Company days! =) My eyes are drooping, and falling flat on my face from some mild form of fatigue would be the most logical thing to do. But, at this point, too much of my mental energy is also going into trying hard to adjust to a newfound state of busy-ness that is not anymore limited to 'productive summer breaks' (I used to spend my sembreaks and summers working). So many of my dreams are coming true (working with certain orgs and on certain projects) and I can't wait to take on each and every one of them. I thank God for work opportunities and the patience to take on each task and job I get. I crave being busy, having meetings to go to, shoots to get done, events to host and sing in, places to visit, rehearsals, performances. I love and want to do this kind of thing. Can I just say something, though... I have to get used to not being able to find the many quiet times I used to so enjoy, the free time I could use to do things like finish reading not one HALF of a book, but SEVERAL books. There are moments where I just want to insist on moving out, living again in my own house which I decorated, bought appliances and furniture for, had the key to. I like making my own cup of coffee for breakfast, because that helps me get my rhythm in the morning, and when it's done for you then everything can seem a bit out of balance. =p I just want to renew my legit non-pro license and drive myself to work in my own car, without hired individuals lurking on the side. It would be nice to be at the wheel accompanied only by a friend with whom I can otherwise openly talk of completely private, highly confidential topics. Of course I am lacking sleep, and when I lack sleep napapansin ko lahat. Yesterday, our driver ran the red light while texting. Ano ba?Of course, I go on my blog and find that I can be somewhat alone there for a moment, so here I am, venting to you at almost 3 in the morning. =p My little frustrations do build up, but the bursting can end this minute. I figure that this is the life I need to re-adjust to, I was, for quite a long time, living a life so different than the life here, and this is the first time in a long time I'm back for more than 2 months. It's no longer a break, and last year's summer break was the last of my student life. I'm home for the loved ones and for the race I choose to join. After all, this is supposed to be the "hit-the-ground-running" part, and I am lucky to be around many people I both know and don't know at all. There are lots of things to learn from people, and though there are things getting to me like lack of privacy and still living in the family house, like in any other situation, you have to look at the big picture and adjust to how things are done where you are, with what you have for the time period. I'm not sure whether to flinch or savour it as the thought of the real world (or REEL world?) pierces my skin. All I know is you're "only as good as your last show" so you keep working hard for every day. I still can't sleep. I've been venting for an hour now, typing, deleting, typing deleting, typing. I realize that, maybe, I am just looking forward to the things I know I will be accomplishing this year (think positive!).
In performances, they say nerves are good. Because when they're NOT there and you're kampante, that means you are taking something for granted. So, nerves are good.
With an average of 5 hours nightly, voluntarily or involuntarily, how do some people still make the most of each 'marathon' day? How do you start a new day when you haven't even ended the previous one yet? Gotta learn, gotta learn...
Tick tock. I have to be up by 8. It could be 4 AM now. Manila time. LAVETT! =)
Happy New Year!!! For 2008... The 5 things we can do to clean up our act!
1. the guts to eat the right stuff. junk tastes gooood but try drinking as much water as you can. then watch what you take in cos it can make you or break you. an electric juicer is still the best tool for gulping up the desired, but often dreaded, greens :)my cousin and i have detox dates, never complete without the cucumber-carrot-apple-honey shake! you can also try adding a few malunggay leaves. according to a nutritionist I know, malunggay supposedly has 3x more calcium than milk and 7x more vitamin C than orange juice TIP: don't make the mistake of trying to process fresh malunggay into a shot glass... malakas pala tama nun para kang nag tequila!!! you'll be hit by a serious migraine, cold sweats and a possible fainting fit. 2. get out of your comfort zone... do something. do one thing every week that scares you. slap yourself when you get crazy lazy & it's not an official holiday. shake your boo-tay when you like the music you hear, cos angels aside, you are down and depressed sometimes! think of what, in the 9 lives of a cat, you believe in... you have to believe in SOMETHING... make yourself useful. puwera plastikan. 3. compliment someone (and mean it). I read this somewhere before and it's so great. there isn't a snowball's chance in hell you wouldn't get a kick out of it-- it works with anyone cos everyone is somewhat vain and wants a compliment! how bout saying THANK YOU to someone... or making a peace offering... there has to be someone you haven't talked to in a while? make peace, not war. make loooove, not war. 4. find something to LIKE. a new film? song? out of the box idea? a new dream job? a new tambayan? something about your PAST? laugh. try it now, smile. makes you feel good already i'm sure. laugh cos something's funny, laugh cos you find something ridiculous. laugh cos it's good for you. laugh cos you can. 5. never allow anyone to say you don't have a BACKBONE. take a break. know when & why you have to be fair to yourself. know how to cry whether out of relief or remorse. know when something is hurting you. know when something is an act of truth or just an act, period. know when something is, or isn't, good for you. don't stress yourself out about it all... rest, and try to see why you should be proud of your decisions.
what are YOUR new year's resolutions?
Know the feeling
of losing something great? Then realising that,
suddenly, u have
something u wanted all along
without really knowing
HOW u got it
WHY u have it
or even
that u BELONG?
That's how it felt, joining BAYO. I am so grateful and it's so surreal.
Napaisip lang ako sa church while taking down some notes. At one point, the pastor gave out a one liner and said, "watch your life diligently." Sabi sa service, know yourself, watch your life, find humour and humility through everything. Baka totoo nga yun para makita din natin what we have, what we should be thankful for, and also how whatever we lost before can open doors for bigger and better blessings later on.
I also learned that God didn't live to teach us how to want more... His life was about the challenge of letting go. They say, let go of something first, go down first, and you'll earn the kind of faith that'll allow you new beginnings and the freedom to grow.
Ayus!
p.s. big thanks & congratulations to everyone who watched the tv special! you made both airings of Paris to 'Pinas a success. thank you... and i hope you enjoyed our show!
Hi everyone! As Jenni Epperson would say... MABUHAY! :)
Tagal ko nang hindi nagbo-blog! But I hope alam naman ninyo kung ano ang pinagkaka-abalahan ko these days. My very first TV Special Docu with ABS-CBN just for you!
Ang daming nangyaring "firsts" these past few weeks:
First time na magkaroon ng manager (no less than Ms. Sandra Chavez!), first time na humarap sa showbiz press, first time magpa-interview sa The Buzz PLUS, first time na pumirma ng kontrata at makapag-lunch date pa kasama ang ilan sa mga ABS-CBN bosses (tito Gabby Lopez, tita Cory Vidanes, tita Malou Santos)! Of course, first time ko ring maka-trabaho ang aking idol sa media na si Ms. Korina Sanchez. :)
With matching teary-eyes and tissue pa nung umalis na sya ng studio. Hahaha...
Thank you so much Ms. K for teaching me by example, and for inspiring me with your work ethic, character and strength. Whew...What an honor to have been interviewed by you for our TV Special KC- FROM PARIS TO 'PINAS. Thank you very much also for guesting me on your own show, RATED: K! (Malayo Man, Malapit Din).
Thank you Lord! Grabe, guys. Dream come true talaga ang lahat lahat... Ibang level na 'to.
Love always, K. :)

13-17 June 2007 Art 38 Basel - "The International Art Show"
Hi everyone!
Basel is located on the border kung saan nagmi-meet ang Switzerland, France, and Germany. Usually ang lumilitaw sa isip ko pag sinabing "Switzerland" ay gold-wrapped Swiss Chocolate na mukhang malalaking coins, ang Swiss Army Knife na may white and red na cross, or ang Swiss Alps na first time kong makita sa TV salamat sa mga powdered milk commercial! Ang naalala ko rin na nung bata ako, laging nagku-kwento yung ninong ko about his days in Switzerland as a student. I guess kung ano man ang naririnig mong kwento tungkol sa ibang lugar, yun yung dumidikit sa isipan natin and magic nalang ang mangyayari sa isang tao once na finally makatungtong na sya sa lugar na yon. :)
Pagsinabing "Art" dito sa Basel fair, that includes modern drawings, paintings, sculptures, light designs, installations, furniture designs, photography, video and digital art.
Ang major naman talaga na may 300 leading art galleries from 30 countries all over the world na sumali sa fair na to...

Today I learned...Coffee was once forbidden by Christian priests!
I also learned that...
The first coffee tree in the Philippines was planted in Lipa. The ''coffee capital'' of the Philippines is the city of Amadeo. Thanks to KAPE NI JUAN website http://www.kapenijuan.com for the information!
Coffee drinker ba kayo? Meron kasing mas nakaka-focus naman with tea. :)
Sa kung sino mang may gustong makaalam...
*Population 8 million people in the city of New York.
*Duration of the Trip 5 days ; 6-1/2 hour flight from western europe.
*5 different boroughs make up NYC 1. Manhattan, 2. the Bronx, 3. Queens, 4. Brooklyn, and 5. Staten Island. Manhattan can be divided into 15 areas, but basically, you can just remember three things: Uptown, Midtown, Downtown.
*Most of the popular sights in NYC are located in Manhattan The Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the United Nations, the Rockefeller Center, the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) and Roosevelt Island are in Midtown. The Statue of Liberty, as well as Ellis Island, are in Lower Manhattan.
Most of the photos in the New York Trip, 2007 album were taken in Manhattan. Hope you enjoy my little contribution to cyber-sightseeing. :)

(kaya wag malungkot o magsungit! hehe!) Yahey! Congratulations to all the classes of 2007 in the whole wide world. (:
Thank you sa lahat ng mga bumati and sa mga nagrereply sa mga post dito. Ang ha-high tech na rin talaga ng mga kooki-berks oh I don't know what to say! =p Di pa ako nakakahanap ng time mag-reply sa mga comments nyo and mag upload ng new pics, pero after the mini blog-break rocken roll ulit. Ayyyyyyt?
Nakakanerbyos yun sometimes dahil what if meron akong hindi ma-fulfill na expectations? It only makes us stronger as people dahil dumadating ang mga ganung challenges.
"Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best.
Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
Live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you!"

murang-mura na ticket
palipad sa New York.
thank you Lord at na-sequester ko. =p
kayo, anong nangyari today na you consider a blessing?

.joeyayala.
Today i learned: #1: To expect the unexpected!
Hehe :)
#2: "Cacti" is the plural word for "Cactus", and they grow in hot, dry places. Usually nahahanap ito sa Mexico and other Central American countries,
the Middle East, India, North Africa and Australia. They have no leaves at all, and instead they have
spikes to defend themselves from animals who might eat them. Their thick stems allow them to
store water.
At naalala ko tuloy yung napanood ko sa CNN about the current effects of Climate Change.
nalang natutuyo at nawawala!
Friends... hayop palang yun... pano
Diba nangyayari
na nga? Yikes!
Anyway! Thanks to Pia for the photos! Hehehe! Naka webcam ako the other day to share this mini-discovery with my little girlfriend Maxie. =)
To the Isidro family, especially Kauhfy, kuya Enzo, Kambal, t. Olive Tina Agot and Lola Edie. My heart goes out to all of you... Lolo Joe was so positive and always smiling as I remembered him. Kauhfy =( Hagulgol ka lang jan sige... cry all you can and all you want... :( I'm sorry I can't be there for you at this time. I'm so far away but we are all here for you. I'm sorry I had to hear about it from you... I love you Kopiko =( Wild and quirky bunch naman kayo, and I know you will stick to each other even tighter now during this time of healing. You're lucky to have each other.... Lola Edie, "I WILL BE STRONG" and "LIFE IS CRUEL" pala ah... Classic talaga si lola... Go ahead and smoke that cigarette, if that's what will make you feel better. t. Agot will just pull her hair out for it and scream at you in silence. :-p My heart goes out to the Virginia Tech community, the families and close friends of the 32 victims, the patients who are still at the hospitals trying to recover physically and emotionally. I've been following the Vtech massacre story for the past 4 days, reading articles & watching videos from newsvine.com, yahoo news, nbc news, bbc news, and all the videos available on youtube. I'm in shock and don't know what to think or say. I feel an enormous rage whenever I hear the killer's voice in reading his statements included in the package he even managed to send to nbc between his shootings. Or to see a close-up of his face, his photos, and to hear, from a student reporter's video of the crime scene, the 27 horrifying consecutive gunshots he fired relentlessly. =( But I feel a deep sense of pity at the same time for the killer whose last words sounded more like an anxious cry for compassion and help, than just a mere feeling of hatred against 'the brats' and 'the snobs.' How awful. I wonder what he was going through, what things happened to him to feel so oppressed and humiliated by kids at his school, and my heart also, despite my anger, goes out to him. His actions have still, of course, outraged and burdened entire communities around the world. Thank GoD for a sense of safety, which I, and other Filipinos whom I know (OFWs included), feel in this big city. Also for the sense of security in my small, private university. For surrounding us friends in college with dominantly decent people, not always entirely sane but sensible, anyhow. :) I've met some fantastic people who are supportive, generous, and humble regardless of differences in ethnicity, background, and even, levels of wealth. I want to thank those people I know, who come from these varying socities, for still being so grounded, and never letting anyone feel that they are so inferior and small. I couldn't imagine it being easy for anyone to sit there, digesting all this footage + information that are immensely available online; To have images of sitting in class and watching your professor get shot to death. It is about opening up to the reality of death, and comprehending the fact that death, in any form, is a part of life. I've always had a strong fear and defense mechanism against the ideas of isolation and permanent loss of another. I lift up this fear to my GoD, and I pray that whomever reads this learns, too, to lift up any of their fears to their Lord and saviour. To be thankful if we have our mental, emotional and physical health. :) To be thankful that, in our culture, we like to gather, we are affectionate and "family-oriented", we value companionship and never really feel so alone. GoD bless those who are mourning a loss, and us who are here, very much ALiVE.
Hi guys! Kwento lang ha?
Habang
As a very special remembrance, nakatago na yung 100P sa bed-side drawer niya forever...
*correction to minor error in DZMM news stating it was an old man
The 100 PESO CONTRIBUTION of that man might be a clear example of our people's growing desire for genuine and meaningful change in our country.

Never alone Don’t be afraid Of the years to come Or the years that fade
With all those dreams Don’t you lose sight Of the boy you are And that man inside
He speeds through life Armed with his guards Just to slow it down To reveal his heart
My Darling dear How far you'll have come How courageous of you To be whom you'll become
On firm ground, you're built In strong faith, you stand Let the weight disappear Let one heart in one hand
I will watch you soar Tell stories of your sky Love is patient Love is kind.
Thank you, METRO mag, for putting me on your March 2007 cover! Thank you, ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. More than happy ako to experience shoots katulad nito because at least kahit papaano, napapa-smile kayo. Salamat talaga guys at lagi kayong interesado.
Sa mga kwento... sa mga pieces of me... Whew! Dami ko ring natututunan sa inyo. =)Good vibes always. God bless... xx, KC

Ni hao (kamusta)! Among my 6 courses this sem, ang pinaka hindi ko ine-expect mapag-aralan ay ang... CHINESE! To celebrate VDay share ko lang some things I've learned as a result of my love of languages... =)
Ibang-iba talaga ang mag-aral ng Chinese, dahil unlike Filipino, English or even French, kung saan gumagamit tayo ng alphabet, Chinese naman is made up of characters. So instead of letters, we learn through strokes + images, meaning paulit-ulit nalang naming ginagaya at mine-memorize ang pagsusulat ng bawat 'character.'
Interesting din na just one character can mean one WORD or SENTENCE na talaga... Hindi ba wild? And ang HIRAP din pala! It took me 30 minutes to learn and memorize how to write "week"-- nakakaloka.

I also learned that in the Chinese school curriculum, students are taught 3,000 characters by the end of university. Grabe, to think that in the past two months, around 50 Chinese characters pa lang ang natutunan namin dito. Long way to go pa pala... There are around 54,000 more Chinese characters to discover!
Good luck nalang! hahaha!

excited na akong mapanood to! =) elements of moulin rouge, musical theatre, flower child romance and a hint of rustic nostalgia. political uprising. love story. breaking the rules or recreating them. directed by Julie Taymor. like it already, kaya lang SEPT 2007 pa!
eto na ung trailer. JAI GURU DEVA...Ommmmmmm.
