So dahil sa pag bless ng coffee para sa everyday consumption, ever since then ay naging mas-informed tayo about coffee at okay na mostly sa Christian world ang pag-inom nito. :)

Simple only.. green tea works just fine or any simple flavored tea... such as, lo and behold, LEMON CHAMOMILE! Hahaha! :)

I do not drink coffee, aside from palpitating whenever I take coffee, maybe it's also because i have so much caffeine already due to drinking of diet coke here in the U.S. It is so tempting because every house you visit always has soda in their fridge. But I actually drink green tea even when I was still in Manila. They say it is really good in cleansing your system, could lower cholesterol too. not a big coffee drinker anymore coz when i was young it was all i drank -dark and I think with konting sugar.. i remember my fav was coffee and rice.(come on was it just me??). muhahaha...oh those were the fun days =D ... now when it comes to Starbucks tea - I gotta say I LOVE - CALM (i believe it is one of their many herbal teas which has chamomile flowers, spearmint, lemon grass, pepermint.. etc, etc.. ) SARAP SARAP.. NAKAKA ADDIK!!!

Hi Kooks! I used to be a coffee addict. Caffeinated Grandes were my thing of the past. But I still love the occassional Buzz it gives me. Coffee wakes up my system while Tea calms me down and clears my mind specially Chamomile Tea. And I'm not saying this just because you like Lemon chamomile tea. I've always loved to curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee or tea with lemon. Specially on Rainy afternoons. ;-P While listening to Nat King Cole Black vinyl records or Barbra Striesand ditties.

regarding teas, I love green tea... but I've noticed na kapag nasobrahan ako, I get these debilitating headache spells... lalo na kapag white tea ang ininom ko, which sucks.. 'coz it's supposed to be good for you.
my first year in college, scared of the dreaded "freshman 15," I took hydroxycut (which, for one pill, is equivalent to about 5 cups of coffee!!!), then I stopped 'coz it was totally horrible (think fetal position, crying in pain)... but I think it totally screwed up my body's reaction to caffeine!

Being a resident of Seattle, where Starbucks was born and coffee is in the city's culture, coffee plays a huge role in my life. Some mornings, I tell myself that if there is a way I could climb into a cup of freshly brewed coffee, I would. I love Starbucks but, you should also try going to other cafes to try the different blends and brews.
a lot of people prefer coffee in the morning lalo na kung in need of boost! d2 sa california lalo na sa san francisco area, sobra ang daming choices where you can get a drink. me starbucks every block. sometimes 2-3 starbucks in one block! kahit saan ka pumunta, ang dami ng tao. i like starbucks pero me coffee store din called Peet's Coffee. I like yung choco powder they use for their mocha. If you'd like to taste something besides coffee, try their iced or hot chai tea. they always brew the tea as you make the order. so fresh!

LOL...maleta-eyes. I can drink almost up to 6 cups of coffee a day, lalo pag midterm/finals season! But more than that, I'd probably have a heart attack on the way to class! 80 cups....major addiction na yun, pero they probably built up their tolerance....parang alcohol, right? Your body starts become immune to the amount you normally take, so to feel the buzz, you have to increase the dosage! Nagka withdrawl syndrome kaya sila?

Starbucks iced mocha is the best! Although during summer I like iced green tea latte! Or their green tea frapuccino with blueberry syrup which was available last summer only :(

Hi Kace! May kulang sa buhay ko pag walang KAPE. Hehehe! Coffee addict ako. Sa umaga dapat my kape ako coz I usually have headaches if i'll not be able to have a glass of coffee in a day. Bad noh? Yeah, there's a lot of researches now says that coffee has anti-oxidants and all but still, I know too much of it is not good in our body. That's why right now I'm doing my best to cut my coffee consumption or I just put lotsa of milk on my usual concoction just to have a taste of coffee on it.Then I'm good to go for the day! ;p
Love coffee! Lately napapadalas ako sa Kopi Roti (Katipunan, T. Morato, MOA). Love their kopi (with a thick layer of condensed milk at the bottom=yum!), with piping hot Kopi bun, soft boiled eggs with soy and white pepper. Ahh! Comfort food!

agree ako na nakakahilo ang kape, and imagine dati hindi pa sila marunong mag 'drink moderately' kaya upto 80 cups of coffee ang iniinom nila. kaya pala nababaliw ang mga tao at pinagkamalang "drink of the devil" ang kape! para siguro kasi silang sinasaniban ng masamang espiritu, when in reality sobrang taas lang ang caffeine na pumasok sa kanilang sistema. hehe.
agree din ako.. last sem's final exams were pretty tough, i consumed 12 latte grande from starbucks in 3 days.major HiLo inabot ko, na hndi ako maka-focus sa exam! bummer.

I used to be a coffee drinker when I was in my 1st and 2nd yr in college. But it made my sleeping cycle abnormal at ang nangyari lagi akong pagod coz of inadequate rest and sleep. Di rin ako makapag-aral ng ayos. Siguro dahil I was just an occassional drinker at di well-adjusted ang system ko lalo na pag hell week (examination week). Mas masarap lang talagang matulog kesa mag-aral ng pagod at puyat. I just wake myself up 3-4 in the morning to study by setting my alarm clock. In that way, I have rested my physical body and mind; therefore, it is easier for me to absorb all the lectures and notes. Anyway, I still go to Starbucks for my all time fave--Caramel Frap!!!

I'm a tea drinker...i drink all kinds of teas. green tea, black tea, oolong tea, herbal teas, white tea, red tea, instant tea...basta TSAA! pero fave ko ang green tea bec of the health benefits I get from drinking it. As much I have been trying to cut back on my caffeine intake, soo so difficult talaga coz I work graveyard. Funny thing is, starting Fri (Jul 6) my fellow coffee addict cousin and I agreed to somewhat "quit" coffee and stick with sugar less green, jasmine, chai or chamomile tea. We'll see. But I definitely love Starbucks. The first of it's kind being from Seattle (love that city). Nasa Pike Market sya. Designed to imitate the relaxed ways of the Italians during siesta. My usual orders:
1. grande caramel machiatto 175 deg F. extra shot, soy, low foam and loads of caramel 2.grande black and white low foam 3. venti caramel frapuccino with xxxtra caramel 4 chai green tea, hot or cold basta with soy pag hot and lastly 5. summer fave venti passion iced tea with 5 pumps.
Meron din special blends ang Tully's (Bambino, Evergreen and French roast) and Peets (Arabian Mocha Java, Major Dickason's and Gaia). Uhhhhhm Super sarap to wake up to, or pang all nighters! Di rin mahilig sa Kape no?1?

Coffee was once forbidden by Christian priests! Once upon a time, pinagbawalan daw ng mga priests sa Rome ang pag-inom ng kape dahil inisip nilang "drink of the devil" daw ito. Kung sanctified daw ang wine at ginagamit sa Holy Communion, at ang coffee ay pwedeng non-sanctified substitute sa wine at mas nakakabaliw daw ng utak ang kape (hindi pa nila dati naiintindihan ang effects ng caffeine), drink of the 'anti-Christ' daw ito!
UNTIL finally, sa mga taong 1500s, inaral at tinikman ni Pope Clement VIII ang controversial na "anti-Christ coffee brew." Nasarapan siguro sya because he decided na hindi na dapat ipag-bawal ang coffee dahil hindi naman sinful ito. Agad niyang ni-bless at na-baptize ang coffee!
So dahil sa pag bless ng coffee para sa everyday consumption, ever since then ay naging mas-informed tayo about coffee at okay na mostly sa Christian world ang pag-inom nito. :)

100% percent agree ako jan! ano mang sobra talaga eh masama. no doubt na pampagising talaga ang coffee. i can say literally that i can feel na kapag nakailang gulps na ako ng coffee eh nagiging active ulit ang brain ko. sino ba naman ang tatanggi sa positive effect ng coffee di ba?! pero syempre kapag sobra eh may negative effect naman. naexperience ko na before ung negative effect ng coffee when i was cramming for a school paper. i did not noticed that time na naka-10 mugs na ko. ang effect is you cant sleep kahit ano gawin mo. you feel very tired na but your mind still running at maximum capacity then yung heart mo will flutter. pero the best part pa rin sa coffee kapag iinom ka is yung delightful experience na naibibigay ng coffee when you inhale the remarkable aroma during percolation process. yan ang reason why i'm still drinking coffee. basta always remember na "drink moderately" para ang benefits na makukuha natin eh positive.

hi op3r :) it's true, here u can find the best espressoes and cappuccinoes but no starbucks means missing out on true blue american coffee we pinoys are used to or on yummy frapps. kc only few good coffee and bake shops have them here. and besides like kooki said, hirap hanapin ang mocha dito sa europe which happens to be one of my favourites.

I watched this movie last night in theatres, and it was very cuuuute! It even takes place in PARIS, FRANCE!!! The French accents, the sights, the Eiffel tower, the French characters... it was just so cute and entertaining!! Has this played or is this playing in the Philippines yet?
It had such a good moral to the story, too: ****No matter who you are or where you come from, you can be and do whatever your heart desires... as long as you are true to yourself and your dreams.*** True that, peeps!

cofee drinker, oh yes. nagsimula sa patikim-tikim, ika nga. actually i think it started around when i was about 4 or 5 yrs old... inuubos ko yung konti coffee na naiwan sa cup ng daddy ko. well i liked it. when i was still in the philippines, di naman ako maka starbucks everyday cause i was just a student and it was very expensive. when i came here in the states, ayun na, hindi na nawalay sa starbucks! i very proud to say that i am a grande-nonfat-caramel-machiatto-ez caramel girl. = )

When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls . He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls . He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand . The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions-- and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.
The sand is everything else--the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls . The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room ! for the things that are important.
"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first --the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand ."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.

I'm a coffee addict!!! I've this certain attraction (almost an obsession?!) to this heaven-sent product and I never skip a chance to try every possible brew I encounter. Maybe Filipinos are innate Coffee lovers! After all, we are once one of the world's top coffee producers.
However, it is sad to note that today, we do not anymore hold that prestige. Because of the rise of other coffee-exporting country and the decline of coffee production locally, we are no longer a competitive force in the world's coffee industry. It's quite sad because we still produce and brew few of the best coffee beans known to man. It's just lack of support and effort that wastes all these wonderful coffee.
So to all the coffee lovers here, I encourage you guys to buy and patronize the local brews! Maybe you can start by going to Figaro (a local coffee shop) today and buy a cup of local coffee instead of buying some imported brand. Then maybe, you can brew your of cup by buying local coffee beans! Also, you can go to www.savethebarako.org to read more about our local coffee.

Hi jprency14, I'm not from Paris but I've been there several times. If you want a reasonable price try mo HOTEL DE LA BOURDANNAIS it near Les Invalides and the Champs de Mars kaya it will be a lot easier for you to get around Paris. They also served complimentary breakfast (American style) What exciting about it is it's only two blocks away from the Eiffel Tower...about 15 minutes walking distance..kaya u can actually walk to the tower everyday...marami rin resto and bakery kang makikita. The hotel is great, di sya 5 star hotel but it's worth it. U don't want to stay in the most expensive hotel dahil I bet you u will not even stay in the hotel room for more than 8 -10 hours a day, kasi marami kang mapupuntahan sa Paris. Hope this help, enjoy ur trip to Paris!

Dito you can't buy even just the tiniest house for that amount. It can be use for a downpayment though. The cheapest you probably can find in the market right now, say a small apartment would be around 200 thousand dollars.

Coffee was once forbidden by Christian priests! Once upon a time, pinagbawalan daw ng mga priests sa Rome ang pag-inom ng kape dahil inisip nilang "drink of the devil" daw ito. Kung sanctified daw ang wine at ginagamit sa Holy Communion, at ang coffee ay pwedeng non-sanctified substitute sa wine at mas nakakabaliw daw ng utak ang kape (hindi pa nila dati naiintindihan ang effects ng caffeine), drink of the 'anti-Christ' daw ito!
UNTIL finally, sa mga taong 1500s, inaral at tinikman ni Pope Clement VIII ang controversial na "anti-Christ coffee brew." Nasarapan siguro sya because he decided na hindi na dapat ipag-bawal ang coffee dahil hindi naman sinful ito. Agad niyang ni-bless at na-baptize ang coffee!
So dahil sa pag bless ng coffee para sa everyday consumption, ever since then ay naging mas-informed tayo about coffee at okay na mostly sa Christian world ang pag-inom nito. :)

Wow! I've learned something new this time...at ngayon it's about kape..yeah,,nice one! I used to drink too much coffee, mostly because of the content,antukin kasi ako eh.
But recently, I'm always having sever headaches, and I found out that I should avoid drinking it for a while, to prevent myself from experiencing it again and again. I'm missing it sooooo na, lalo na ngayon,sooo interesting pala ang pinagdaan ng kape na yan.
Kaya for the meantime gatas at tsa-a tsa-a nalang muna ako.

Yah, masarap uminom ng tea before you go to bed, and it make you easily fall asleep din because of the "Theanine is an amino acid which is present in tea plant (camellia sinensis). It cannot be found in any other plant except for one non edible mushroom. Green tea, black tea and oolong tea contains theanine. Theanine is readily absorbed by the intestines and because it can cross the blood-brain barrier, it enters the brain and affects the neurotransmitters. The alpha brain wave activity, which can be measured at the back to the top of the head, increases at approximately 20 minutes after ingesting tea. A person is in a relaxed and calm state of mind when the brain is in this alpha state. The mind also becomes more alert, not drowsy as you may associate with a calm state. This state can last for up to four hours.

Dahilan lang sa nasarapan ang papa sa roma kaya hindi na ipinag bawal ang pag-inom ng kape eh ano kaya ang nangyari kung hindi nasarapan ang papa sa roma sa kape? eh di hanggang ngayon bawal pa rin sa mga catoliko ang kape.
