Art 38 Basel - "The International Art Show"

Hi everyone! :)

Basel is located on the border kung saan nagmi-meet ang Switzerland, France, and Germany. Usually ang lumilitaw sa isip ko pag sinabing "Switzerland" ay gold-wrapped Swiss Chocolate na mukhang malalaking coins, ang Swiss Army Knife na may white and red na cross, or ang Swiss Alps na first time kong makita sa TV salamat sa mga powdered milk commercial! Ang naalala ko rin na nung bata ako, laging nagku-kwento yung ninong ko about his days in Switzerland as a student. I guess kung ano man ang naririnig mong kwento tungkol sa ibang lugar, yun yung dumidikit sa isipan natin and magic nalang ang mangyayari sa isang tao once na finally makatungtong na sya sa lugar na yon. :)

Hindi chocolate, army knife o skiing ang pinunta ko sa Switzerland kundi ang international art fair called Art Basel. Ngayon naiintindihan ko na kung bakit kapag sinabing "Art Basel" ay kailangang ready ka nang malula... dahil hindi ko ma-imagine na in just one place ay may mga 2000 artists na nagkaroon ng chance makapag-display ng gawa nila!

Pagsinabing "Art" dito sa Basel fair, that includes modern drawings, paintings, sculptures, light designs, installations, furniture designs, photography, video and digital art. Apart from the modern artists na naka-establish na ng pangalan nila sa artworld, marami rin sa nag-exhibit ay mga artists na nanggagaling from our very own generation! Karamihan sa mga art works dito ay 20th and 21st century.

Ang major naman talaga na may 300 leading art galleries from 30 countries all over the world na sumali sa fair na to... May mga taong katulad ko na dakilang admirer lamang, pero meron din mga 55 thousand art collectors, art dealers, artists, curators and art lovers na nag-attend nitong "annual meeting place of the art community."

Ang sarap palaguin ang modern art community sa Pilipinas, no? Ang daming maliliit na art gallery sa Cubao / Marikina na wild kung makapag-exhibit. Ang dami kasi nating pwedeng ma-analyze, maisip, ma-challenge o ma-question tungkol sa nakasanayan na ng isang tao, o sa mga gawain ng society natin, bansa natin, nakapaligid sa atin. Hanga ako sa mga nakakapag-debate and explore ng mga ideas at opinyon nila, hindi sa pagtatalak, kundi sa pag-apply ng utak at isipan nila into creating something, visually.

nag-try ako mag-edit ng post ko then na-edit naman sya. i don't know what happen pero ako yung last na nagreply sa post mo. I hope di ako yung reason kung bakit nawala yung post mo.

it might just be a glitch or multiply did some maintenance that screwed up the system. I don't think someone hacked it since the link chalk3d posted works.

multiply do contain a few minor bugs so don't worry much =D

Hi kc, web masters might be currently updating/maintaining multiply thats why ur recent post was lost on the main interface of ur website, but its not really lost, it is stored somewhere on the database of ur website.. but would appear again kpag na ayos na nila =)

I'm subscribed to one of the Multiply-sponsored groups so I get email alerts everytime someone posts a concern, suggestion, etc. The posts I've been receiving alerts for these past few days seem like people are having pretty much the same dilemma you're having--some of them complain na bakit hindi nag-appear ung pinost nila; some would ask how come biglang nawala ung inupload nilang pics, mp3 tracks etc. while others complain why all of a sudden they're missing a post they've posted up for the longest time.

Hopefully yours isn't a hacking issue; sana network glitch lang.

KC, your link to the album is probably not encoded properly as it is not taking it to the album. I clicked on it but it just takes me to the same entry blog, to this !.

Re: If there are hackers here, I am pretty sure there are, so you should be careful and be vigilant. To protect yourself, do not give too much personal information which may be taken that may be used to harm you in any way. Identity theft is becoming so prevalent in this day and age. Make it a point to change your password every now and then especially if you suspect or if you noticed some weird things happening in your site.

About the album being lost, I don't think it was lost. The link given by someone works so it should still be there. You might want to check if any of your setting had been changed for this particular album, like maybe a "hide" option.

It might just also be a system glitch on the part of multiply. My only question is why is it that this is the only entry that is affected?

Anyhow, aside from this frustrating, "not knowing what's wrong thingy on multiply, I hope all is well with you.

Na-guilty yata siya. Sabi niya, isipin mo na lang na this is a blessing in the sky. Irregardless daw of his feelings, we'll go ouch na rin. Now, we're so in love. Mute and epidemic na ang past. Thanks God we swallowed our fried. Kasi, I'm 33 na and I'm running our time. After 2 weeks, he plopped the question. "Will you marriage me?" I'm in a state of shocked. Kasi mantakin mo, when it rains, it's four! This is true good to be true. So siyempre, I said yes. Love is a many splendor.

Pero nung inaayos ko na ang aming kasal, everything swell to pieces. Nag-di-dinner kami noon nang biglang sa harap ng aming table, may babaeng humirit ng, "Well, well, well. Look do we have here." What the fuss! The nerd ng babaeng yon! She said they were still on. So I told her, whatever is that, cut me some slacks! I didn't want this to get our hand kaya I had to sip it in the bud. She accused me of steeling her boyfriend. Ats if! I don't want to portrait the role of the other woman. Gosh, tell me to the marines! I told her, "please, mine you own business!" Who would believe her anyway?

Dahil it's not my problem anymore but her problem anymore, tumigil na rin siya ng panggugulo. Everything is coming up daisies. I'm so happy. Even my boyfriend said liketwice. He's so supportive. Sabi niya, "Look at is this way. She's our of our lives."

Kaya advise ko sa inyo - take the risk. You can never can tell. Just burn the bridge when you get there. Life is shorts. If you make a mistake, we'll just pray for the internal and external repose of your soul. I second emotion."

Hi kooki berks. Yes! KC's back here. I watched her in TV Patrol kanina. Ganda nya maski walang make-up. Imagine, all this time she was busy doing her TV special. Dami talagang surprises ni KC. I'm sure she'll be visible on TV coz she's promoting her tv special. Sabi pa don, pinag-uusapan na rin yung iba pa nyang plans including movies. Yahoo! Finally andito na ang princess of them all. You guys beat me to it. Kala ko ako una magbabalita dito sa pagdating ni KC. Dami palang nauna sa kin. Pero ok lang coz we all love KC.

Dahil it's not my problem anymore but her problem anymore, tumigil na rin siya ng panggugulo. Everything is coming up daisies. I'm so happy. Even my boyfriend said liketwice. He's so supportive. Sabi niya, "Look at is this way. She's our of our lives."

hi lilsiskhim! i know, right!?! i haven't been in awhile, but I've missed this site, KC's blogs/pics, and all the chikka-chikka that goes on in here! So here I am! Oh, and salamat sa kasi ng pansin mo yung tagalog ko ng i-improve, pero just starting-off pa ako and hindi naman ako sobrang comfortable pa mg Tagalog sa salita kasi parang yung accent ko.. medyo it needs major work pa, but I guess what matters is that I just WANT TO LEARN (thanks to youtube, this awesome site, and my dad's Learn Tagalog Now workbook he gave me! Haha.. I'm being super serious, too!). Sabi ni St. Augustine, "Patience, patience, patience.. THAT is the companion of wisdom."

Nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang isang taong konektado sa ABS-CBN. Sinabi nito na any day now ay puwede nang pumirma ng kontrata si KC sa ABS-CBN at Star Cinema.

Pagkatapos niyang mag-graduate sa kanyang kurso sa Paris, ay nakapagdesisyon na raw si KC na mag-stay na muna rito sa Pilipinas, kapiling ang kanyang ina na si Sharon Cuneta, ang kanyang stepdad na si Senator Kiko Pangilinan, at mga kapatid na sina Frankie at Miel na na-miss na rin niya nang matagal. Papasukin na rin daw ni KC ang mundo ng showbiz.

"Matagal nang nililigawan ng ABS-CBN at Star Cinema si KC, kaya lang, priority talaga nito ang makatapos muna ng studies niya sa Paris," sabi ng source ng PEP.

"Siguro, ngayong tapos na siya, nag-isip na rin siya. Hindi naman kataka-taka dahil galing siya sa isang pamilya ng mga artista, at tinanggap na niya ang offer. Kung nahilig siya sa theater, bakit hindi rin siya mahihilig sa television and movies? Mauuna nga lang siyang mapanood sa Channel 2 through a TV special."

Dagdag pa ng aming source, "Remember noong time na nagkakagulo ang kampo ni Angel Locsin tungkol sa paglipat niya sa ABS-CBN? Noon naman ‘yung time na pumunta na si Sandra Chavez of Artist House kay KC sa France.

"Hindi ba, nagpaiwan pa si KC pagkatapos mag-attend ng graduation niya last July 23? Gusto raw muna niyang mamasyal sa iba-ibang lugar doon, bisitahin ang mga friends and classamates niya, sumakay sa train.

"Iyon na ang simula ng isang TV special na si Chit Guerrero ang siyang nag-supervise ng shoot. It's a homecoming special for KC pagkatapos ng ilang taong pag-aaral niya sa American University of Paris. The said homecoming TV special ay mapapanood na next month.

"Si Sandra ang manager ni KC na in-assign ni Sharon at siya rin ang nakikipag-negotiate para kay KC. At 22 [years old], hindi na niya kailangan ang consent ng parents niya sa pagpirma ng kontrata.

"Ang alam ko" patuloy niya, "matagal na ring in-assign ng Star Cinema si Joey Reyes na sumulat ng script at siya ring magdirek ng first movie ni KC. Si Piolo Pascual ang makakatambal niya."

Tinanong ng PEP ang source kung ang remake ng Dear Heart, na unang pinagtambalang movie ng mga magulang ni KC na sina Sharon at Gabby Concepcion, ang gagawin ni KC as her first movie. Baka ito rin ang dahilan kung bakit ayaw ni Sharon na ipagawa sa iba ang nasabing pelikula dahil gusto niyang ang sariling anak ang gumawa nito.

"I'm not sure kung bagong script ng Dear Heart o original script ni Joey Reyes ang ginawa niya," sagot ng PEP source.

Kailan naman pipirma ng contract si KC sa ABS-CBN, tanong namin sa aming source?

"Hindi ko pa alam kung kailan. Pero nakabalik na si KC from Paris last week at bonding-bonding pa silang mag-anak ngayon. For sure, hindi iyan ililihim ng ABS-CBN."

Nagpaunlak ng isang exclusive interview sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon ang anak ni Sharon Cuneta na si KC Concepcion sa The Buzz kaninang hapon, September 9. 

Pagkatapos ng taping ni KC para sa ilang eksena para sa TV special niya sa ABS-CBN last Tuesday, September 4, sinagot niya ang mga isyung inuugnay sa kanya. Una na rito ang tungkol sa graduation gift na ibinigay sa kanya ni Megastar.

"Matagal ko na po kasing pinapangarap na magkaroon ng relo na puwede kong ipamana sa mga [anak ko], sa future ko ‘yon. Iyon talaga ang gusto ko ever since na makita ko siya sa Internet. Minsan, habang naglalakad, nakikita rin pag nagwi-window shopping ako, ganun. Pero never ko siyang nabili with my own kakayahan," saad ni KC.

Sinagot din ni KC ang katanungan sa tuluyan na niyang pagpasok sa showbiz.

"Pinag-aaralan ko pa lang yung mga puwede kong gawin na project," sabi ng anak ng Megastar. "Pero for sure, dahil sa inaral kong communications, hopefully, in the media din. Sana abangan na lang nila yung projects or surprises na puwedeng dumating dahil narito na po ako ngayon."

Nag-shooting sa Paris for one week si KC for her TV special bago siya bumalik ng Pilipinas kung saan ipapakita ang buhay niya doon for four years. Bagama't apat na taon siyang nanirahan sa Paris para mag-aral, ayonm kay KC ay nanatili pa rin silang close ng kanyang mga kapatid sa ina na sina Miel at Frankie.

"Maglalaro kami every time umuuwi ako, ganyan. And yung si Frankie, marunong nang mag-text. So, bigla ka na lang may mahahanap na [message] sa Inbox mo na, ‘Ate, when are you coming home?' O kaya, ‘Magmadali ka na Ate matutulog na ako!'

"Si Miel naman po, baby po pa rin siya, e. So, nangingilala pero hindi mo pa masyadong makausap. Pero mahilig maglaro, mahilig magpatawa, ganyan," kuwento ni KC.

Nilinaw rin ni KC ang estado ng relasyon niya sa ama nina Frankie at Miel na si Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan.

"Yung Dad ko na si Dad Kiko, lagi akong binibigyan ng advise. Halimbawa, nagka-interview tayo kay Korina [Sanchez], sobrang dami niyang advise na ibinigay sa akin para mawala yung nerbiyos ko kasi sobrang idol na idol ko si Ms. Korina.

"And my Mom siyempre, siya yung may pinaka-alam sa industrya. Dahil dito sa special na ito, marami rin siyang gustong ibahagi sa akin na advise and making sure na hindi mo sisirain yung sarili mong pangalan, ganun," natatawang sabi ni KC.

Ikinuwento rin ni KC na nagtsitsikahan daw sila ng Mommy niya pag may time ang napaka-busy niyang ina.

"Magsasalita ‘yan mga one hour, two hours. Saka pag feel niya, magte-text ‘yan ng mga ten messages. So, meron kang ten messages na galing sa Nanay mo," pambubuko ni KC.

Bilang pangwakas, nagbigay ng mensahe si KC sa kanyang ina at sa kanyang Dad Kiko.

"For Dad and Mom, thank you so much for all your support, for all the love, for being understanding of my growing years. Hindi nagkulang ‘yon. Thank you so much and I love you," sabi ni KC.

Sa September 23, Sunday, pagkatapos ng That's My Doc ay mapapanood ang TV special na ginawa ni KC para sa ABS-CBN, ang KC From Paris to Pinas.

"Naku, abangan ninyo ‘to," paanyaya ni KC. "Sobrang gaganda po ng mga lugar na makikita ninyo. Sobrang exciting po lahat ng mga eksena dito sa special na ‘to. And sulit pagpanood ninyo dahil first time ninyo pong makikita lahat ng makikita ninyo diyan [sa special]."

Marami na ang nag-aabang sa TV special na ginawa ni KC Concepcion para sa ABS-CBN na ipapalabas sa September 23. Titled KC From Paris to Pinas, the special chronicles the life of KC sa apat na taong inilagi niya sa Paris as a college student.

Ayon sa aming source na konektado sa production ng TV special ni KC, mismong sa campus (American University in Paris) kung saan nag-aral si KC for four years kinunan ang mga mahahalagang bahagi ng TV special. Siyempre, kasama rin si KC sa mga eksenang kinunan.

Mula sa loob ng campus, sa library, sa cafeteria ng school, pati sa dorm niya ay may kuha si KC. Talagang nilibot daw ng TV crew ang buong campus. May interview rin daw sa mga classmates ni KC, pati sa kanyang mga teachers.

Commendable ang ginawang effort ng ABS-CBN na magpadala ng TV crew sa Paris to document everything na importante kay KC during her college life. Gusto nilang maging truthful sa desire ni KC na maibahagi nang maayos and in full sa mga tao ang naging experience niya while in Paris. Pag napanood mo ang TV special, para ka na ring kasama ni KC habang naroon siya sa Paris.

Bukas, September 10, at 6 p.m. ang presscon ni KC para sa kanyang TV special. KC will talk about her life and experience in Paris, at siyempre tungkol din sa TV special na tiyak na magiging memorable para sa kanya.

Tiyak na marami ang magtatanong kung ano ba ang nami-miss niya sa naging buhay niya while she was in Paris. Marami rin ang curious kung may plano ba siyang bumalik sa Paris to take on a new course. O dito na siya mananatili sa Maynila para harapin ang kanyang career bilang artista.

Tiyak din na itatanong ng mga press sa kanya kung ano ang estado ng relasyon nila ni Lino Cayetano, ang direktor ng Star Cinema movie na I've Fallen For You. Willing kaya si KC na sagutin ang mga tanong tungkol kay Lino?

Sa presscon kasi ng pelikula na dinirek ni Lino, iniiwasan nito na sumagot sa mga tanong about KC. Ang katuwiran niya, wala naman kaugnayan si KC sa pelikula kaya very politely ay tumatanggi siyang sumagot sa mga tanong about the daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta.

Hi hope mapanood ko rin d2 sa italy yung tv special mo. Kaya lang tuwing sat afternoon to sunday pm lang day off ko. Pag night siya ipapalabas sa TFC d2 tiyak di ko mapapanood kase balik amo name that time. Wish ko na lang upload yung sa youtube. At di ma close yung account noong mag upload noon. Kase nman yung pinag day off pan ko may TFC nga tuwing sat. at sun lang naman me nakakapanood, pag alang gala or happenings. Most sa youtube lang me nakakapanood, pero karamihan nag upload sa ABC -CBN na mga shows eh nag close or na suspend.
