13-17 June 2007 Art 38 Basel - "The International Art Show"
Hi everyone!
Basel is located on the border kung saan nagmi-meet ang Switzerland, France, and Germany. Usually ang lumilitaw sa isip ko pag sinabing "Switzerland" ay gold-wrapped Swiss Chocolate na mukhang malalaking coins, ang Swiss Army Knife na may white and red na cross, or ang Swiss Alps na first time kong makita sa TV salamat sa mga powdered milk commercial! Ang naalala ko rin na nung bata ako, laging nagku-kwento yung ninong ko about his days in Switzerland as a student. I guess kung ano man ang naririnig mong kwento tungkol sa ibang lugar, yun yung dumidikit sa isipan natin and magic nalang ang mangyayari sa isang tao once na finally makatungtong na sya sa lugar na yon. :)
Pagsinabing "Art" dito sa Basel fair, that includes modern drawings, paintings, sculptures, light designs, installations, furniture designs, photography, video and digital art.
Ang major naman talaga na may 300 leading art galleries from 30 countries all over the world na sumali sa fair na to...
hi shakeyy! yan yung mga boyscouts na na-meet ko sa kalye! dun sila sa may sidewalk nagfu-fund raising... bake sale nila yan to raise funds for their weekly saturday field trips to the forest. as in that's where they learn about the environment, team work, survival... so gumawa sila ng brownies, orange cakes, lemon cakes. katuwa no!

mabuti nman at marunong sila mag bake (: considering na boys sila ha (: at sa usual age nila hindi yan magkaka interest in baking (: galing
hi KC. Glad to see you back after so many weeks. Nice pictures and i must say that you're getting prettier each time i see you. Hope to see more pics of you. Can you post your graduation pics too? Kung ok lang.
hi kc, we are so blessed to have you, imagine you shared all your experiences and all places that you gone through. we gain knowledge from you, thank you so much hope you will always do this..
sarap mag travel....hay 9 days to go and Paris here i come! Kace san ba sa Paris masarap mag shopping ?hindi yung mga high-ends Shops ah! sayang kasi tapos o patapos na summer sale jan ...hay! anyways, i love your photos!
kace. . Aliw kasi mga postings mo about the places you've been to. Mas nakakatuwang basahin kesa mga official TRAVEL GUIDES (which can really sound stuffy and devoid of connecting elements at times). When you write, we can sense the sincerity and the mounting excitement. Nakakahawa. Binago mo talaga attitude ko sa mga celeb kids (those bratty, lazy, shallow celeb kids who believe the world owes them a favor simply becoz they were born into fame and fortune).
Hey did you see is this is Daniel Buren's work? Remember the permanent public installation with black lines similar to this that we went to in Paris some years ago? : )
hello kc ! i just finish reading your post and its true talaga na kung ano ung nasasabi sa atin nung bata tayo , yun pa din ung nag ma mark sa isip natin hanggang paglaki , and im glad coz' u make it happen in reality na makapunta sa switz ! ur such a blessed , sweet girl ..

ganda naman! sobra...:] thanks for sharing your cool art pics and your adventures there in europe...nagkaron tuloy ako ng idea where to go pagpunta ko dyan...:]
Thank you for letting us take a trip to Basel, Switzerland albeit vicariously. Your blog is not only enjoyable, but educational and informative as well. God bless!

Parang ikaw e... Di ba nga may sinalihan kang dance company? Pero correct me po if I'm wrong.Sabi nandito ka raw.. Talented talaga! Galing mo!!!
thanks for sharing your photos of your trip again! :D i really love your pics! speaking of art, will you be having the super! artists' fair again this year? :)
Kace, thank you ha? Marami na naman kaming natutunan... Keep it up!!
indeed, sarap palaguin modern art dito sa pilipinas, im not trying to be political, pero di din naman kasi gaanong supported ng gobyerno eh, anyways theres a lot of galleries int the metro that features modern artists, like fart, big sky mind, cubicle, crucible pati mga malls nag aallow na sila mag exhibit sa lobbies nila, kaso sa ngayon maraming critics, they are trying to suppress mga ideas ng ibang artists, maraming nagsasabi "this is not good, this and that" bakit ko nasassabi mga to, because i am a living witness and ive already experienced it... and its such a pain in the ass.
I know malapit ka ng umuwi. Kace, pasalubong ha? Joke!! Or pwede ring guest co-host, o di ba or pwede regular na rin. hehehe!! I'm sure pagdating mo dito magiging super busy ka na. Sana ma maintain mo pa rin 'tong blog site mo. Marami kaming natututunan dito e. At sana matuloy ang KOOKI DAY!!!Wiiiissshhhh!

I've been hearing about this country since 2005 (kasi fave ko si Roger Federer). Super, meron palang "art basel"!
According to my research nagpa-flock daw dun yung mga eclectic and new artists lalo na sa "Picasso Street":
"In general, Hongdae has become an experimental platform for new artists, especially for those whose work has not yet become commercial enough to break into, say, the Insa-dong scene. While “Picasso Street” is something of a misnomer, as the merchandise appears to convey a distinctly Korean style (with cloth material, floral insignias and other patterned trinkets featuring prominently), its artistic offerings are more than worthy of its namesake."
If you ever have the chance to go there sana i-post mo din yung mga photos.
I really appreciate your blog. You've been an inspiration to everyone. Keep up the good work! And god bless sa career mo sa showbiz. Ill be watching your show - can't wait, kasi I know it would be fantastic.

what a coincidence!!
TRIVIA ABOUT BASEL (or BASLE):
one of the largest life sciences company Novartis is located in Basel. Home country of Novartis is Basel, Switzerland but it has numerous offices around the Globe including the Philippines. It is said that because of the huge size of the office compound plus the parking space, the company is jokingly referred to as the owner of Basel. Because the employees enjoy a lot of priviledges, discounts in shops around Basel, the employees guard their IDs carefully because there were already numerous ID theft reports!
SOURCE: I WORK FOR THIS COMPANY (dito sa 'Pinas) :>
i dont know if this website is real.. kung pwede nga lang bumalik ako ng pinas babalik ako para makita ka. but i dont wanna try kasi baka maupset lang ako. kasi di ko alam kung totoo ba to site na to...
About your idea " Ang sarap palaguin ang modern art community sa Pilipinas, no? " Kaya naman, kailangan ng pondo, mag maintain and magandang marketing strategy. Madali rin kasing ma bored ang Filipino. Kailangan paiba-iba rin ang scenery. That's what I think. =)
Kooki, baka maging best photographer ka in the near future ha. =)
